Laptops vs Desktops, Which One is Truly Better?
Laptops vs Desktops: The heavily technology-dependent world we live in always requires some sort of device with various features to tackle the problems that we face day to day. Primarily we have had several different types of computers since the invention of one. The first computer was created by Charles Babbage(also known as the father of computers) in 1822. People usually don’t count that computer as the modern-day computers that we know today. The evolution of computers can be covered sometime else but as of today, we are focusing on how laptops are differentiated from desktops and testing which one is better.
Desktops Computers
Desktops computers are also known as PCs (personal computers are computers) which are on a smaller scale and can be kept inside a house for various purposes. The first desktop computer The Kenbak-1 was introduced in the year 1971 by Johnny Blankenbaker of Kenbak corporation. PC comprises 4 major elements: A monitor, a keyboard, a mouse and a central processing unit (the CPU). Because of the individuality of the devices, PCs are super customizable according to one’s needs and requirements and can tackle every issue for common people. You can swap out hardware elements from the CPU as well to enhance the performance.
From home requirements to office work, from educational institutes to hospitals, a desktop computer is always in work at these places and works amazingly in every domain provided. The only downfall would be that even though it’s smaller than supercomputers and other large-scale ones, it’s still not very portable and mobile.

Laptops
The first “laptop” known to mankind was invented by Suwa Seikosha’s Yukio Yokozawa in the year 1980. It was called the Epson HX-20. This gave the inspiration for the fold-shut laptops that we know today. Since then, we’ve had several upgrades for the laptop helping humans achieve the best of hardware requirements in a portable shell to carry around everywhere. Although we’ve been able to provide laptops with the best of features when manufactured but if there are any needs for customizations or upgrades, very few support the needs. Although software upgrades are possible with almost any given laptop, it does lag behind in the aspect of being completely customizable.
Laptops are as small as 14 inches and as large as 17.3 inches, which no matter what makes them super portable and handy and can be whipped out anywhere to perform the required task by the user. The possibilities in laptops are also indefinite and amazing.
So Which One is Truly Better? – Laptops vs Desktops
Ultimately as usual, subjective to the needs and requirements either of them is pretty good. A laptop is portable and handy as we discussed with its compatibility, whereas a desktop computer will support more features and can handle multitasking better and smoother depending on the hardware setup which is a condition required for both devices. if you are someone who moves around a lot and doesn’t necessarily settle, a high-end laptop would be the perfect choice for you, but if you have settled and have a stable condition, a desktop computer would be very useful, according to me at least, a high-end laptop would be great in all domains. It could function in multitasking and high performance as well as could be handy and portable wherever you go.
